"The background image was available only as a 1280 x 1024 image, so even if I figured out how to change it to a wider resolution, I wouldn't be able to do much about the background other than add plain black bars to the sides to keep it from distorting. But then it wouldn't look quite as good. It would basically be the same thing except the image would be floating in the very center of the screen instead of being anchored on the sides."
I don't really feel like delving back into it, but I think you could give it a shot if you wanted. If you download both the file and the program, you SHOULD be able to edit it. Sorry I'm not of more help!
